Selling Some of my Collection

Hello,

I know it's been a while but 2023 was... dreadful. Thank goodness for the brick. But I've reached the invevitable point where my collection is bigger than my storage. I need to sell a few sets. I'm planning to add photos and set names here, but does anyone have any tips for selling sets?

BrinkLink was my first thought but I don't want to open a shop. There is ebay but I'd like to give the LUG first pick. I'll get together some photos and the set names/numbers together and add them to this post.

The sets are mostly Harry Potter sets and minifigs from the minifig series with a Year of the Dog set, a Pirate tree house 3 in 1 creater set and a Dather Christmas build bag. At least 4 of them are still in box. They have all their parts included.

Anyone any advice on…

Half Term Lego Deals.

Bit random but Smyths Toys have reduced the price on a number of older Lego sets including some of the rarer ones you normally can only find in the Lego Shop. Unfortunetly the new Hotel Moduel set is not on that list (boo) but if you're interested in saving some funds on a few sets that might still be on your wish list, take a look.

They're also running a Lego give away on the 19th of February. For those of you brave enough to go near a toy shop on the last Saturday of half term, there's a free mini build to pick up. I'm not sure what form the build will be but I think it's to do with either the Lego Friends or City lines. If anyone has more info, please post it here.

Has anyone else heard of any deals going on during half…

I hadn't noticed that. That's slightly worrying. Argos is running a sale on some Lego sets too. I'll check them and try to remember to compaire price before posting the links here in future.

Anyone found any other Lego deals?

Quidco (earn up to 5.6% cashback from Lego.com)

Wanted to post about this site as you can build up quite a bit of cash and i am shamefully going to include my referral link too so that I can earn £25 cashback which I will put back into the LUG. I think it only activates when the people I refer earns £5 back in cashback.

The link is https://app.quidco.com/raf/ZFFw

How it works/tips?

  1. Sign up with quidco

  2. when you are about to buy from Lego.com go to Quidco first (website not app) and search for Lego and click their link.

  3. make a purchase on Lego.com in the normal way

Lego Set Finds.

With the new year comes the brand new sets! Have you bought any? Or any you're just waiting for pay day to get?

How about some bargains in the New Year Sales? Anything unexpected? Or just a review of your favorites to help others pick. Put them all here. I certainly need help reducing my wish list.

I did find a good deal at Smyths Toys (always good for a bargain during the holidays). I managed to complete my Ninjago Legacy collection and get the last two sets with one of them down in price.

Not much in the way of unusal finds but I was able to get some of the Series 22 minifigures. For those of you who miss being able to hunt for your favorites by feeling the bags, Smyths Toys seemed okay with it. I was able to get the Chilli girl with the chilli pepper…

I created a separate category for specific set discussion. I think breaking the forum off into niche areas can then facilitate a better conversation flow. Feel free to start new topics in that new category for different discussion based on different Lego themes and products.
